If a particular scientific area is of special importance to you and you would like to support it specifically, from an endowment of 100,000 € and upwards we offer to set up an endowment fund within the Heckmann Wentzel Foundation. You choose the name of your endowment fund. For example, you might choose your own name or the subject supported by your fund. The amount that you endow becomes part of the capital of the Heckmann Wentzel Foundation but is managed as a separate account within it. The costs of investing the wealth are borne by its revenues.
The gains from the wealth go exclusively to the benefit of the purpose that you have chosen. If this purpose is very topical or will not be of importance indefinitely – for example where the research area supported is subject to very rapid change – it may be appropriate to tie the purpose to a specific time-period, after which the Heckmann Wentzel Foundation is permitted to use the capital you have donated for other purposes too. In this way your fund can move with the times and follow the development of research in the long term.
For tax purposes, you derive the same advantages from a fund within the Foundation as from a supplementary endowment, but in terms of the content you are also able to determine the purpose and name of the fund. Your personal endowment fund could be called, for example:
Jane & John Doe Fund of the Hermann and Elise (nee Heckmann) Wentzel Foundation
You will be kept regularly informed of the activities supported by your fund.
