The Assembly of the Members of the Academy is the collective session of all the Ordinary Members of the Academy. It is led by the President. The Extraordinary Members take part in the meetings of the Assembly but without voting rights.

The responsibilities of the Assembly include:

• Confirmation of the election of new members
• Election of the President and Vice-Presidents
• Confirmation of the election of Secretaries of the Classes and their deputies
• Election of the Scientific Members of the Board on the proposal of the President
• Election of the Scientific Members of the Council on the proposal of the Classes
• Resolutions on the announcement and award of Academy prizes and medals
• Receipt of the President’s Report
• Authorising the Academy budget
• Assisting the President
• Approving and altering the Academy’s Bye-Laws
