The Council is the institutional centre of the Academy and is led by the President. Its tasks are centered on the scientific work of the Academy. It consists of: the members of the Board, up to fifteen scientific members, the spokespersons of the interdisciplinary research groups and initiatives, and three chairs of the commissions responsible for the long-term projects, as well as the Rapporteurs on Academy Policy and the spokespersons of the research staff, each with advisory status.
The Council decides on the Academy’s programme of scientific work and on matters of scholarly principle. This includes:
