The Society of Friends of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities was set up on the 16th of December 1993. Its bye-laws define its task as intellectually and materially supporting the Academy founded in the tradition of the Prussian Academy of Sciences and assisting it in fulfilling its responsibilities.
